El CRYSTAL BALL EVIDENCE FOR NEW STATES
نویسنده
چکیده
Evidence for three new particles observed in the Crystal Ball detector is presented. The first particle, at 3592 MeV, is seen inclusively in y transitions from +', and is thus a candidate for nl The other two, at 1440 and 1640 MeV, are best seen in exclusive decays of + involving a prompt y, and are thus candidates for bound states of two gluons. Detailed reasons are presented to support the contention that these states are distinct from previously observed candidates such as E(1420). Alternative hypotheses are discussed.

The total cross section for e+e-annihilation into hadrons has been measured * by the Crystal Ball collaboration at the SLAC storage ring SPEAR, for center-of-mass energies 4 from 5.0 to 7.4 GeV. The data show no evidence for new thresholds or resonant structure in this energy range. The average value of R, the radiatively corrected total hadronic cross section divided by the point p-pair cross ...

First results from the Crystal Ball experiment (SP-24) are presented. In particular a preliminary analysis of 800K events at the J/$(3095) and 190K events at the $'(3684) gives new information on the existence of controversiai states of the charmonium system. We find no signal for the X(2820). Nous presentons les premiers resultats de l'exp&-ience Crystal Ball (SP-24) de SPEAR. En particulier u...

A target of best dissolution improvement of poorly soluble drugs is a necessity for the success of formulation in industry. The present work describes the preparation, optimization, and evaluation of a new spherical agglomeration technique for glimepiride as a model of poorly soluble drugs. It involved the emulsification of a drug solution containing a dispersed carrier that tailors the crystal...

The Crystal Ball detector at SPEAR is used to study the inclusive photon spectra in decays of the J/$ and +', with double our previous data sample. Branching fractions for +' + y~~,~,~ have been measured as (9.7?0.6)%, (8.8 &0.5)% and (7.7 ?0.5)% respectively. Combining measurements from inclusive and exclusive Crystal Ball studies our best values for the natural widths are, r ( tot x0,1,21 = (...
